The Making Of

In our quest to celebrate the "Do It Yourself" ethos, our collaboration with innovative hairstylist Roberto Campisi unfolded into an extraordinary editorial cover story. Together, we explored the limitless possibilities of transforming everyday items into stunning hairpieces that redefine conventional beauty standards.

Dress: Chictopia

The editorial cover story captures the essence of Campisi's imaginative approach, showcasing how simple items like flowers and sponges can be repurposed to adorn and elevate hairstyles to new heights. Campisi's ingenuity and artistic flair breathe life into these unconventional materials, turning them into statement pieces that challenge the boundaries of traditional hairstyling.

“The main idea between was to create shapes and shots using materials that we can find every day in our homes and lives, which we often overlook.

We found the recycling and reuse of everything we touch daily fascinating and extremely artistic. I liked the idea of using a material that typically serves a specific purpose and creating a sculpture completely dissociated from its usual use.

I appreciate the concept of breaking away from stereotypes of beauty and developing an idea with humble materials that, when assembled, can create form, movement, and art.

Together with photographer Izack Morales, we decided to use balloons, sea sponges, water bottles, wire to which I tied some dreads with flowers, and some paper napkins.

It was very stimulating to work with materials foreign to my usual work and incorporate them into an artistic idea.”
